Hi everyone, thanks for listening to the show! I’m a hobbyist photographer with a day job of farmer on the Alberta prairie, also a grandma to three super boys who are an endless supply of subjects to photograph, however I also enjoy landscape photography, as there is ample opportunity right out my back door! You can often find me in some old rusty truck down a back road with my dog Snoopy… that is my true happy spot.

When I started doing film photography at the age of 10, it was just called photography. After commandeering my Mom’s Kodak Instamatic and my Dad’s SX70 the family got me my own “real camera” that Christmas. The Polaroid my father took of me unwrapping that Minolta is the last picture of me in the family photo albums. I have spent the following 50 years behind the camera. Actually, many cameras.

Cameras seem to “find” me the way stray cats find other people. Decades of thrift store finds, generous gifts, and tips from a network of friends who know me as “That Camera Guy” left me with quite a collection of cameras. They range from little 110s and digicams to professional medium format cameras and DSLRs… and they (almost) all still work! I hope to share what I’ve learned shooting these diverse cameras with Embrace the Grain listeners.
